In 1930s the Nazis built a holiday resort on the Baltic coast. Hitler’s Colossus of Prora should now get a new chance. Germany’s Metropole Marketing plans to build there a new modern spa. They already have ideas how the resort will look like.

The resort is situated on the island of Rügen, Germany. It was built between 1936 and 1939 and consists of eight large buildings. Because of WWII it was never completed.

“Prora Solitaire” is the name of the new project. It has two phases: “Prora Solitaire Hotel Apartments & Spa” and “Prora Solitaire Home.” The first phase will rebuild the original homes 08, 09 and 10. Those houses are now almost ruined, but they should become 5-star holiday home. Developers want to build there about 130 apartments and suites. There will be also duplexes for the whole family with a view of the Baltic Sea. They will have balconies, terraces and roof terraces.

You can use the houses and apartments not only for yourself, but as an investment, too. Because the project is sponsored by a government’s renovation program, new buyers can get a German tax break.

There is still an interesting question: Who would like to live in a place, which is closely connected with Hitler? Is seventy years since the end of WWII enough? Are people ready to move on and move in?

In 1930s the Nazis built a large holiday getaway. After more than seventy years is this giant complex to get another chance, a new life. That what was established as Hitler’s Colossus of Prora is to be redeveloped as a modern spa and resort. Responsibility for this huge project has taken Germany’s Metropole Marketing, which has already introduced renderings for the new appearance.

The resort is situated on the island of Rügen in Germany. It was built between 1936 and 1939 and consists of eight huge buildings. Because of the outbreak of WWII the project was never finished.

“Prora Solitaire” is the name of the new project. It will have two phases: “Prora Solitaire Hotel Apartments & Spa” and “Prora Solitaire Home.” The first phase will take care of now almost ruined concrete blocks 08, 09 and 10 and its aim it to turn them into 5-star holiday home. About 130 apartments and suites are to be built there. If everything goes well, we’ll find there also duplexes for the whole family. They will offer a view of the Baltic Sea, balconies, terraces and roof terraces.

A good part of the apartments has already been sold. They will serve not only for personal use, but as a smart investment, too.

When talking about investing, the whole project belongs to a renovation program sponsored by German government, which means that the new buyers can be given a tax break.

Where’s a problem then, you ask. Consider this, the place has always been and always will be associated with Hitler. Who would like to live there? Or in better words, it has been more than seventy years since the end of WWII, but has it been enough for people to forget (forgive) and to move on (in)?
